New newsletter: The Cartoon Church

A probably-inadvisable second Substack

An email from Dave Walker? Well, who would have thought it.

I have news, if you happen to be someone who quite likes my church cartoons (if not, apologies - please skip forward 4 paragraphs).

As you’re receiving this you are probably a subscriber to the mailing list associated with my CartoonChurch.com website (thank you). As you may have noticed my emails have been somewhat infrequent, for which I apologise.

Some news: This mailing list is now becoming a newsletter, which I’m calling The Cartoon Church. Essentially I’ve really enjoyed writing my Diagram Club newsletter (featuring my everyday-life and cycling-themed work, plus misc nonsense) on Substack over the last few months, and people seem to have been quite enjoying reading it. So, I thought I would develop this mailing list into something similar for people who like my church cartoons.

The approximate plan: Each newsletter will feature a smattering of cartoons, news relating to the ecclesiastical side of my work, opportunities to suggest topics for new drawings, and hopefully new features that will develop as we go on. I’ll write a bit more about my plans in the first issue, but if you’re really keen you can read more in the ‘About’ page.

This isn’t the first issue, but I thought I’d write and update faithful readers before I start. I hope you enjoy it, though, of course, if you’re no longer interested please feel absolutely free to unsubscribe. There should be a link below, along with an unlikely-sounding address in San Francisco.
